Tax Specialist

About you

You are a part qualified or newly qualified chartered accountant with indirect tax experience. VAT returns and PSA calculations hold no mysteries for you. You have a deep understanding of tax compliance, a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to partner with the business to support the execution of the tax strategies, policies and governance framework. You have accounting experience and are looking for an exciting role in a company with great brands where you can grow and that offers exposure to various facets of the business.  

The job

You will report into the Senior GB&I Tax Manager and be part of our European Tax Center of Expertise.  

You will be responsible for all VAT related reporting compliance in GB&I, including using Making Tax Digital software for VAT. You will ensure correct VAT tax coding is maintained in SAP for all the business flows. You will be responsible for administrative work related to VAT, such as set up and maintenance of new VAT registrations. You will be in charge of monthly closing of VAT accounts, you will prepare and review VAT balance sheet reconciliations and post tax journals in SAP. You will provide training as required and support projects relating to indirect tax matters.  

You will be accountable for direct tax topics and ensure compliance; this will encompass data gathering for the GB&I corporation tax returns, calculation of CIT expense and payments, for monthly closing and forecast phases under the supervision of the Senior GB&I Tax Manager. You will support with year end reporting and the preparation of tax information required for GB&I statutory accounts and for answering external auditors’ requests.  

You will also participate in ad-hoc tax projects and data gathering for transfer pricing documentation, R&D claim, patent box claim, PSA calculation and Short Term Business Visitor reporting. You will drive improvements in underlying tax process and tools to ensure timely reporting to the authorities.
