About the role
The National Account Manager for Costco and The Wholesale Group plays a pivotal role in executing Suntory’s Commercial Plan within designated accounts. This is a field-based position with full profit and loss responsibility, reporting directly to the National Account Controller. The role is designed to drive business performance by aligning closely with regional field teams and delivering against key performance indicators.
What you will do
In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer relationships by developing a strong network of contacts and selling Suntory’s products and plans. You will lead the development and execution of Joint Business Plans and ensure all administrative tasks, such as promotional proposals, forecasting, invoicing, debt management, and sales analysis, are completed to a high standard. You will gain a deep understanding of execution levers within the customer environment and work with internal teams to implement the Suntory Commercial Plan effectively.
This includes collaborating with regional account managers and field teams to meet execution targets and ensuring stock availability through coordination with the Supply Chain team. Financially, you will co-create annual customer plans to exceed targets, forecast volumes and spending, and deliver on volume, net sales, and gross profit goals. You will regularly analyze performance, communicate financial updates, and make strategic recommendations to improve outcomes. Evaluating trade and execution spend to ensure return on investment is also a key part of the role.

What You Need to Be Successful
To succeed in this role, you should be degree-educated or have equivalent experience, with a solid understanding of how account manager and buyer relationships function. You will need broad business knowledge, market insight, and the ability to build relationships at all levels within external organizations. A tenacious and entrepreneurial mindset is essential for establishing and maintaining long-term partnerships. Strong financial acumen is required to develop robust, strategic proposals, and you must be proficient in Excel and experienced with trade promotion management and volume forecasting systems. A good grasp of the FMCG landscape and excellent commercial and organizational skills are also critical. Key competencies include commercial acumen, the ability to deliver results, and strong self-awareness. You should be open to feedback, calm under pressure, and committed to continuous personal development.
