Financial Accountant - FTC role
About your role
As a Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of our financial reporting across Great Britain & Ireland. Working closely with the Deputy Financial Controller, you’ll support the month-end close, statutory reporting and audit processes, while also taking ownership of treasury activities and key balance sheet areas.
This is a great opportunity to build deep expertise in financial control, gain exposure across multiple finance functions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a complex, international environment.
What You'll Do
• Support and deliver month-end close activities across treasury, intercompany, and Ireland accounting
• Prepare and present balance sheet reconciliations and ensure key accounts are accurate and well-controlled
• Contribute to statutory accounts preparation and support external and internal audit processes
• Manage treasury activities including daily bank postings, cashflow forecasting and free cash flow planning
• Own and monitor intercompany balances across group entities
• Ensure accurate excise duty reporting (Ireland) and compliance with regulatory submissions (ONS, CSO, etc.)
• Manage fixed assets and depreciation within SAP for GB&I
• Support tax reporting activities and internal control requirements (e.g. J-SOX)
• Track and report key Order-to-Cash KPIs to drive performance improvements
• Act as a subject matter expert on accounting standards, supporting implementation of new requirements (e.g. IFRS updates)
• Identify and drive opportunities for process improvements and better ways of working
• Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Supply Chain and external auditors

What You need to be successful
• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA/CA or CIMA)
• Solid financial accounting knowledge and understanding of reporting standards
• Experience working with SAP and strong Excel skills
• Highly organised and structured in your approach to work
• Curious mindset – you ask questions to fully understand the ‘why’ behind the numbers
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and able to move forward when not all answers are available
• Confident in making decisions and taking ownership
• High attention to detail with a proactive, self-reviewing mindset
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Strong interpersonal skills – able to engage, challenge and build relationships across teams
• A self-starter who takes initiative while also being a collaborative team player
