About the job

As Commercial Finance Director you will ensure a sustainable profitable growth of the GB business through business partnering Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Growth Management functions.  The core purpose of this role is to support the business commercial strategy design and execution, through our Mid-Term Annual Operating Plans, as well as our monthly IBP cycle.
The role with a Commercial Finance team of 11 provides strong financial leadership across sales, marketing and innovation. In addition, the job holder is a key member of the GB&I Finance Leadership Team and GB Sales Leadership Team.

Growing our Top Line
•    Develop the financial Strategic Plan for the GB Commercial Business balancing investments across the portfolio to ensure sustained profitable growth
•    Ensure balanced financial evaluation of New Product Development projects including post-launch financial evaluation 
•    Translate the Strategic Plan into the Annual Operating Plan through robust detailed bottom up planning balancing Brand and Channel targets. 
•    Manage commercial financial performance in-year through regular review cycles, identifying necessary course correction
•    Contribute to the sustainable profitable business growth in shaping the right strategies and providing valuable financial insights and guidance on strategic plan and annual operating plans, targets and business drivers, including brand, customer and channel plans.
•    Work closely with the Revenue Growth Management team to ensure delivery of our RGM Roadmap
•    Review and challenge IBP commercial forecast
•    Create value in optimizing return on marketing investment to enable profitable brand growth
Improving Efficiency
•    Co-lead the monthly closing, forecasting and budgeting processes in commercial and marketing areas providing timely and accurately valuable variance analysis, risks & opportunities and recommended action plans
•    Review and validate customer joint business plans
•    Improve commercial financial insights and drive efficiencies in strengthening processes and reporting: plans, forecast, actuals through standardization, automation, simplification, data analytics, external insights
•    Improve promotion efficiency ensuring robust financial data and providing the relevant support to commercial and RGM teams
•    Ensure high level of internal controls on trade investment and marketing budget
Champion process and system improvements to drive efficiencies across finance and the broader business
Developing our people
•    Lead and develop the Commercial Finance team capabilities and actively support talent progression

About you

•    Strong experience in Finance with track record of leading commercial business partnering finance teams, ideally with both a Sales and Brand focus
•    Experience in leading planning and forecasting cycles in an FMCG environment whilst driving process improvement in these areas 
•    Expertise in leading, developing teams and coaching for performance. 
•    Ability to develop, drive and communicate a vision with senior stakeholders
•    Instinctively able to challenge status quo with healthy balance of assertiveness and tact
•    Strategic thinking into action
•    High level of resilience under pressure 
•    Transformation, project management and change management experience
•    SAP 4/HANA and BI experience
