Head of Site R&D Centre

About you

You are a senior leader with extensive experience in the food or FMCG industry, ideally having led a production site, R&D centre or large technical team. You bring strong expertise in operations, EHS and regulatory compliance, combined with a passion for building high-performing, engaged teams.
You are a visible and inspiring leader who thrives in complex, multi-disciplinary environments. You balance operational excellence with cultural leadership, creating an environment where teams feel motivated, connected and empowered.
You’re comfortable managing multiple stakeholders—both internally and externally—and you communicate with confidence across different audiences. With a proactive and forward-thinking mindset, you drive continuous improvement while keeping people, safety and performance at the centre.

What You'll Do

As Head of Site, you will lead the overall management of the Tordera R&D Centre, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations while fostering a strong site culture and high team engagement.
Your key responsibilities will include:
•    Leading the day-to-day operations of the Tordera site, ensuring safety, compliance and operational effectiveness
•    Acting as the senior site leader and ambassador of Suntory values, culture and leadership
•    Managing key site functions including pilot plant, maintenance, facilities, administration and health & safety 
•    Leading, developing and inspiring a multi-disciplinary team, including direct management of key site leaders
•    Driving the Zero Harm programme across SBFE R&D, embedding a strong safety-first culture
•    Coordinating site engagement initiatives and building a positive, high-performing site culture
•    Representing the organisation with local authorities, regulators, partners and external stakeholders
•    Animating the Tordera Leadership Team and contributing to broader R&D objectives and strategy
•    Ensuring alignment between site activities and the wider SBFE and global R&D network

What You need to be successful

•    A university degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field
•    Extensive experience in the food or FMCG industry, including leadership of a site and R&D environment
•    Strong knowledge of R&D / Product Development
•    Proven ability to lead, develop and engage high-performing teams
•    Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, both internally and externally
•    Ability to balance operational priorities with transformation and continuous improvement
•    Fluency in Spanish and English (Catalan is a plus)
•    Experience working in multi-location and cross-functional environments is an advantage
