The Opportunity

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and well organised Laboratory Technician & Product Technologist to join our Research & Development team.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Product Technologist who enjoys working in a hands-on laboratory environment whilst supporting exciting new product development projects.

 

This is a fixed-term contract through until the end of December 2026.

What you'll do

  • Maintain the R&D laboratory and pilot plant to high safety, GMP and hygiene standards.
  • Coordinate laboratory equipment calibration, preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage laboratory scheduling and ensure equipment is operational and compliant.
  • Liaise with external contractors, calibration providers and testing laboratories.
  • Prepare samples, batches and materials for development projects.
  • Support testing activities and coordinate external sample shipments.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for licensed NPD projects.
  • Set up and maintain product, ingredient and process documentation.
  • Support development trials and Design Review processes.
  • Partner with Suntory Global Spirits R&D and Commercialisation teams to ensure successful project delivery

What you bring

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Degree qualification in Food Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in a laboratory or technical environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation, time management and multitasking capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and SharePoint.
  • A genuine passion for food, beverages and science.
  • Curiosity, initiative and a growth mindset.
  • Positive, hands-on and collaborative approach.
  • Food and beverage industry experience, ideally within alcohol beverages.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
