The Opportunity:

This is more than a payroll processing role. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and can confidently navigate changing priorities without losing sight of the details.

As a Payroll Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time while delivering an exceptional employee experience. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, partnering with People & Culture, Finance and external providers to manage a high-volume payroll environment, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help drive operational excellence.

We're looking for someone who embraces change rather than resists it. You'll be adaptable, proactive and comfortable working through ambiguity, with the ability to prioritise effectively and maintain accuracy under pressure. Success in this role will come from your willingness to take ownership, continuously improve processes, and build strong relationships across the business.

Alongside proven end-to-end Australian payroll experience, you'll bring a strong understanding of payroll legislation, Modern Award interpretation, Superannuation and Payroll Tax requirements. Experience with UKG/Kronos and exposure to New Zealand payroll will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing end-to-end Australian payroll accurately and on time.
• Managing employee payroll records and master data.
• Interpreting awards and ensuring payroll compliance.
• Preparing payroll-related reconciliations and payments.
• Supporting month-end reporting and payroll projects.
• Responding to payroll enquiries and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Partnering with Finance, People & Culture and external payroll providers.
• Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and employee experience.

What we're looking for:

• Proven end-to-end Australian payroll processing experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance and award interpretation.
• Understanding of Superannuation and Payroll Tax obligations.
• Experience working with Time & Attendance systems.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a high-volume environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and customer service skills.
• A proactive mindset with the confidence to take initiative.
• Comfortable managing ambiguity and adapting to change.
• Positive, collaborative and team-focused approach.

Highly Regarded:

• UKG (Kronos) experience.
• New Zealand payroll exposure.
• ADP Payforce and/or SAP experience.
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or similarly complex payroll environments.
• Exposure to the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award.
