The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Distribution Centre Manager who will have total site ownership and accountability for the NSW Distribution Centre. This will involve the successful deployment of the local operations strategy, focusing on safety, wellbeing, quality and cost management.

What you’ll be doing:
- Full ownership of DC transport operations — optimising delivery performance, fulfilment execution, and last-mile distribution to customers nationally.
- Drive continuous improvement across all DC functions, embedding a culture of operational excellence through structured problem-solving and data-led decision-making.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team — setting clear expectations, developing capability, and creating an environment where people take ownership and want to do their best work.
- Ensure daily operational requirements are consistently met across inbound freight, fulfilment, outbound delivery, GWP, and safety compliance.
- Manage DC-level inventory integrity — overseeing accuracy, stock flow, and shrinkage controls to protect service levels and margin.
- Own and manage the DC P&L, with direct accountability for cost performance, productivity targets, and budget adherence.
- Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring all operations meet legislative requirements and internal standards — zero compromise.
- Partner cross-functionally with supply chain, planning, and commercial teams to align operational capacity with business demand.
- Lead DC infrastructure and capability development initiatives to support business growth and scalability.
Experience that you will bring:
To enable you to hit the ground running, we’re looking for someone is outcome focused with a positive can-do attitude as well as:
- Proven experience in a DC or warehouse management role within FMCG or a similar high-velocity distribution environment — with a track record of taking full site ownership and delivering results.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams at scale — building capability at all levels and fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Strong commercial acumen — experience managing DC-level P&L, budgets, and cost performance with confidence and precision.
- Experience negotiating and managing contracts, SLAs, and third-party service providers, including transport carriers and MHE suppliers.
- Sound knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and proficiency in using data to drive operational decisions.
- Solid understanding of inventory management principles — accuracy, stock flow, shrinkage, and replenishment disciplines.
- Working knowledge of MHE operations, maintenance regimes, and relevant compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills — able to influence upward, across functions, and on the floor equally well.
