About your role

The role is responsible for supporting the research and development of functional ingredients and bio actives through in-house studies and external collaborations. This position contributes to ingredient innovation, patent development, and technical analysis to support product differentiation and consumer needs while ensuring compliance with regulatory and cost requirements. The role also oversees laboratory operations and inventory management to maintain research efficiency and productivity.

What You'll Do

Bioactive Identification

  • Support the identification and characterization of active compounds in ingredients and products to strengthen product differentiation, scientific communication, and patent opportunities
  • Perform fractionation studies and support bioassay activities through internal research and external collaborations
  • Contribute to the development of in-house compound libraries for novel bioactive exploration using in silico screening technologies

Chemical Analysis & Technical Support

  • Conduct chemical analysis and characterization of ingredients and products to support product development, risk management, and market requirements
  • Provide technical support and contribute to discussions on chemical composition and analytical methodologies

In-house Ingredient Development

  • Support the development of new ingredients through extraction and processing technologies to create suitable prototypes
  • Collaborate with SBF R&D, SIC, universities, product development, and production teams to accelerate innovation and ensure scalability
  • Work closely with IP teams on patent applications to support ingredient and product exclusivity

Research Laboratory Management

  • Ensure laboratory safety, equipment maintenance, and operational readiness through routine inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards

What You need to be successful

  • PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, or related fields
  • Relevant experience in analytical chemistry, food chemistry, ingredient research, or related fields
  • Hands-on experience with analytical techniques, particularly LCMS and HPLC, across various sample matrices
  • Knowledge of protein formulation, processing, and prototyping is advantageous
  • Familiarity with bioactivity-guided fractionation, peptides, and natural products
  • Strong laboratory management and data analysis capabilities
  • Commercial understanding of the food or nutritional industry and experience with industrial collaborations is a plus
  • Positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous, independent, and detail-oriented
