Senior Manager, Foods Safety - Rayong Plant -
Job Summary :
- Execute food safety strategies and plans in alignment with the Business Unit Strategy plan and in alignment with the PepsiCo Food Safety policies and code of practices
- Ensure food safety requirements are fully understood throughout manufacturing spheres of operation and provide training of all pertinent PI requirements and best practices around food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Provide SME support to the plant team in order to maintain safe processes and products within the current portfolio
- Ensure Supplier quality compliance as per Business Unit Strategies
- Make sure regulatory compliance with respect to FS
Job responsibilities :
Food Safety and Quality Assurance Leadership

Lead the plant's food safety team and ensure compliance with PepsiCo's Food Safety policies, codes of practice, and minimum mandates.

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive food safety strategies, plans, and HACCP code practices.

Conduct monthly food safety audits, identify gaps, and ensure timely closure of all corrective actions.

Coordinate all AIB and FSSC 22K/HACCP certification and surveillance audits.

Ensure critical food safety programs are effective and continuously assessed, including:

Cleaning and Sanitation (sSOP)
-
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Chemical Control
-
Food Defense
-
Allergen Management
-
Crisis Management
-
cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices)

Ensure traceability for all ingredients, materials, and finished products is effective and can be accomplished in a timely manner.

Assess and resolve plant capability issues (people, infrastructure, and processes) to meet food safety requirements, especially in light of new product innovations.
Team Management and Development

Drive a high-quality people process for the team, including performance appraisals, recognition, and rewards.

Authorize shift changes and leave for QC technicians.

Drive a cultural change towards quality and safety at all levels of the plant.

Provide B2B/QC tools and multi-skill progression training for all technicians and associates.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Lead and manage the Plant Food Safety team, including microbiologists and QC technicians.

Participate in all activities related to achieving Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) goals and standards.

Ensure operating safety protocols are followed on equipment before line start-up.

Identify unsafe conditions through planned inspections and promptly report any injuries.

Ensure lab technicians and associates use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Support the Plant Manager in implementing the HSE policy and producing necessary compliance documents.

Analyze company strategic direction and HSE assessments to encourage continuous improvement in HSE management.

Perform administrative and training duties in accordance with legal and other HSE requirements.
Skills and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or Food Science with a strong understanding of microbiological risks in beverage manufacturing; Advanced degree would be a plus.

Minimum of five years’ experience and proven track record managing food safety within food manufacturing operations, preferably for a multinational company.

Significant experience in dealing with microbiological and other food safety risks in beverage manufacturing including shelf-stable beverages; experience with low acid products a plus.

Proven experience in thermal processing operations including aseptic processing.

Must have attention to detail and follow-up, as well as ability to influence across the organization.

Familiarity and comfort with working across varied, diverse, international cultures.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to represent PepsiCo internally and externally.
