Manager, Automation Engineering - Rayong Plant

Job Summary:

Responsible for Automation system across FMCG plant to manage all machines and equipment parameter under automatic control, calibration program, software back, and reinstall as well. There are PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMI, MMI, Instrument equipment devises hardware and software programing. Development and successful to implementation the Automation program with safety and environmental programs.

Job responsibilities:

Automation and Controls Management

  • System Expertise: Oversee all plant automation systems, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMI, MMI, and various instrumentation hardware and software. This includes understanding wiring diagrams and P&IDs.

  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Process Control Systems, and all automation platforms to ensure smooth operational activities. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues with industrial control systems and assisting outsource service engineers.

  • Project Management: Investigate, advise on, and manage the specification, development, installation, and validation of current and future automation projects.

  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and optimize control strategies and processes to improve productivity, safety, food safety, and sustainability. This includes performing software backups and having the capability to immediately reinstall systems.

HSE & Compliance

  • Safety Leadership: Manage a recurring process to identify, assess, and control workplace hazards and risks. You will also monitor the status of compliance and recommend plans to close any gaps.

  • Training and Coaching: Educate and coach all employees on HSE topics and their responsibilities, promoting a culture of safe work behaviors.

  • Regulatory Interface: Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and enforcement activities.

  • Documentation: Maintain HSE-related records and ensure all work follows established safety procedures to prevent machine and equipment issues.

Personnel & Administrative Duties

  • Mentorship: Train the engineering team on process instrumentation.

  • Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership qualities, motivate the team, and foster a collaborative working environment.

  • Goal Alignment: Perform various tasks and duties to support the overall goals and objectives of the business, following assignments from the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, Instrumentation, Computer science or any other related field.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solving industrial control systems.

  • Good knowledge of PLC programming e.g. IEC 61131-3 (Siemens s7, CoDeSys, WinCC, Zenon, etc.)

  • Good knowledge of HMI, SCADA, MES.

  • Good knowledge and computer skill such as office applications, MMI application and software, etc.
