About your role
- Be a business partner to the Commercial team with a key focus on North area to drive North business growth. This comprises building the AOP/Fcst by Channel and by Category.
- Responsible for conducting Brands Performance analysis and driving insights to improve performance and facilitate decision making.
- Building P&L and financials for New Products Developments, ensure effectiveness of Trade spending/ A&M spending by channel and GTM spending.
- Assess Risks and Opportunities. Analyze data and drive insights. Support on the OT expansion strategy and GTM transformation (route optimization, Distributors capabilities, Distributors and System profitability, etc.).
- This role requires working closely with cross functions to achieve business targets and deep business understanding, strategic thinking, excellent functional analysis, strong presentation and communication skills.
What You'll Do
1. Planning & Forecast
- Partner with Category teams and provide guidance to build the bottom up AOP and MTP budgets and targets. In respect to market share targets, brands growth, A&M funds (COOP and unilateral), capex, as well other budget lines (G&A, T&E, etc.)
- Partner with Marketing team to finalize A&M allocation by brand and type (Pull/Push/D&A). Align with Marketing and Sales and present to CEO/CFO.
- Monitor performance vs AOP/Fcst and identify risks and opportunities
- Review rolling and official forecasts and ensure proper alignment with Commercial team and Senior Finance Management
2. A&M for North
- Develop Master A&M
- Own the COOP and A&M documentation. Also A&M reimbursement requirements
- Ensure the efficient utilization of the A&M funds towards better working/non-working ratio.
- Review and approve spending requests (MFAR)
- Review A&M tracking/reconciliation report (Pull/Push/D&A, by brand, etc.) to ensure effectiveness of spending ant recommend course correctiion actions
- Review and ensure proper post evaluation are done by Brand Teams
- Provide A&M number for the Sales Curve computation
- Ensure compliance to COOP, unilateral terms. Also to follow the proper SOA.
- Ensure control on Frozen funds decisions.
- Obtain required alignment/approvals in respect to budget shifts between brands, type (Pull/Push/D&A).
- Verify and confirm accruals to ensure accurate reporting (year end)
3. Performance Management and Reporting for North
- Review brands and packs performance analysis and discuss with Category heads to take appropriate actions.
- Review the financial data needed for OR
- Work with Marketing team on the BOD deck and other business review with PEP and SUN in respect to Marketing
- Drive market analysis: benchmark with competitors, shadow P&L, Brand Performance for specific pack/area/channel, consumer promotion schemes, etc.
- Identify opportunities to drive productivity in Marketing spending
- Efficiently utilize Power BI to drive insights
4. Pricing and D&A at North
- Review Monthly D&A traffic activities
- Review actual D&A spending and work with Budget Owners to keep track of spending & investments is in line with budget
- Identify risks/ Opportunities on pricing and D&A and communicate to senior management
- Provide recommendation on CDA terms and investments
- Provide recommendation and insights to improve performance of various channels
5. Compliance
- Ensure compliance with SOA specifically in relation to Pricing/D&A/CDA, etc
- Work with Trade Marketing and Legal to ensure compliance with regulations such as Tax exposure and Legal compliance on CPC
6. New Product Development for North
- Play an active role in the development of the NPD economics by working with Sales and Marketing on the NPD assumptions (pricing, D&A, channels, etc.) running scenarios and providing recommendations to achieve healthy KPIs (volume, margins)
- Also, assess required Capex, production (testing, lines capabilities and qualification, etc.) and supply chain (packaging, logistics, etc.) requirements, any investment needed and leadtime.
- Work with Regional team for change in Product Formulation and calculation of NWSP and A&M requirements.
- Present the NPD to senior management to obtain approvals.
- Also work with Marketing team to present to Brand Owner to obtain approvals
What You need to be successful
- University Graduate; Master in - Accounting/Finance, ACCA are preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in Management Accounting/Financial Planning or Finance field, experience with FMCG is a plus; 2+ years at managerial positions (preferred)
- Very strong analytical; ability to leverage management accounting systems and databases in creative ways to maximum advantage required
- Strong business acumen and continuous improvement mindset
- Certificate: CMA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA, ACA are preferred
- Effective interpersonal relations skills promoting teamwork and collaborative alliances required.
- Proactive; able to work independently and be a good communicator, team player
- An ability to work effectively with all levels of staff within the company and externally.
