People & Culture Director, South Cluster

About your role

Partner with the leadership team of South Cluster on strategic people priorities. This role will be responsible for ensuring consistency of approach in talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, talent development, training and P&C Operations within the corporate framework, building the employer branding and culture, as well as providing leadership to the HR team. This position also is responsible for ensuring an aligned HR plan with global and regional priorities.

 

SCOPE COVERING:  South Cluster (Malaysia / Singapore / Indonesia / other markets)

What You'll Do

  • Develop and deliver strategic P&C programs and initiatives (e.g. change management) to ensure operational excellence and flawless execution.
  • Lead to collaborate with Centers of Expertise (CoEs) and the People Excellence team to implement P&C programs and initiatives and partner with the People Excellence team in the delivery of local initiatives.
  • Act as the P&C point of contact and partner for business leaders in that market.
  • Provide support for escalated employee inquiries which are more complex and require higher levels of P&C expertise.
  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases.
  • Implements P&C programs, processes, and policies in line with company values, code of conduct, and local labor laws.
  • Provide people insights and support organizational development activities; work closely with management and employees to improve relationships, build morale, boost productivity, and drive retention strategies.
  • Support the Employee Engagement Plan; drives the active rollout of the Engagement Calendar.
  • Oversee employee movement including requisition, recruitment, interviews, selection, probation, promotions, lateral moves, and succession planning.
  • Partner with the Talent Management team to analyze needs and deliver training and development.
  • Work with the Total Rewards team to develop G&A, ERC, and AOP plans as required.
  • Manage compliance with regulatory requirements, code of conduct, and disciplinary processes.
  • Plan and monitor workforce planning; manages the P&C budget; reviews job descriptions annually or when changes occur.
  • Analyze P&C data to identify trends and resolve challenges that impact organizational capability.
  • Address root causes of issues using sustainable corrective actions.
  • Facilitate organizational change and capability-building initiatives to support strategic business goals.
  • Supports other responsibilities as assigned.

What You need to be successful

  • Bachlor’s or Master’s degree in human resources, Organization Development or any related field.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience as P&C Business Partner or any related field with at least 5 years in P&C managerial roles
  • Working experience in fast paced environment, preferably i.e. FMCG would be an advantage.
  • Work well under pressure, can manage multiple activities simultaneously, and re-prioritize efforts when plans change, or the need arises.
  • Result oriented, strong leadership skills, and well disciplined.
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong knowledge on People&Culture strategy and processes
  • Good stakeholder management skills and strong in maintaining relations
  • Business savviness and understanding trends and developments in the area of focus
  • Ability to steer on business outcomes
  • Knowledge on Employee Relations
  • Ability to use and interpret data for business purposes and integrate in daily operations and solutions
