Sensory Senior Scientist H/F

You are passionate about R&D sensory sciences, and you have a significant experience developing it, notably in food and beverage sector. You are used to work in multicultural environment and so on to work in English. You have the ability to coordinate a small team and external partners.

 

Prioritization is part of your day to day, and you use to work according to a R&D strategical sensory portfolio to ensure your company objectives.

THE ROLE

The purpose of this role will be to drive support New Product Development (NPD) teams from sensory science perspective in order to ensure the business delivers great tasting and great looking beverages for our consumers, in line with market trends, action standards and sales targets.  

 

Within this role, you will manage different topics :

 

Sensory leadership 

  • Coordination of sensory laboratory activity 
  • Shelf life/stability/ageing sensory testing process 
  • Sensory/consumer science testing and method development 
  • Ensure reports of sensory testing are issued and available to all stakeholders 
  • Guide the New Product Development team on the development of the liquid from a sensory point of view 
  • Join Gemba activities for a deep understanding and analysis of the local consumers 
  • As part of Suntory Brand Innovation Way, develop concept together with Marketing and other brand core team members, support external qualitative/quantitative consumer test, analyze consumer research data and support Core Brand Innovation team to interpret consumers’ feedback after launch and diagnose continuously the brand condition from a sensory point of view.

 

Sensory know-how 

  • Ensure good sensory practice are followed
  • Anticipate commercial requirements and plan proactive sensory research in line with the strategic requirements of the business 
  • Scope and promote the development of new methods which improve the precision and speed of the sensory science team 
  • Lead the operational sensory training programs within Suntory Beverage & Food Europe, SBFE, (i.e. factories), maintaining and enhancing the sensory expertise and of the SBFE teams 
  • Represent the SBFE sensory team as a knowledge leader in the area of sensory science, both within Suntory and in the wider scientific community.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, Master 2 or Engineering school in a food-related science field (Food Science & Agriculture, Food Technology, Sensory, or behavioural science)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working within food companies
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate external partners and work remotely with stakeholders
  • Delivery orientation and communication skills
  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
  • Fluency in French and English, Spanish is an advantage.

 

This 10 month fixed-term contract is based in our headquarters in Neuilly-Sur-Seine. Start asap.
