What is the opportunity? | He aha te kōwhiringa?

 

We're looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our Quality team in Manukau, Auckland. This is a hands-on laboratory role that plays a critical part in ensuring the products we manufacture consistently meet Suntory's high-quality standards.

 

Reporting to the Quality Control Leader, you will conduct testing of in-process and finished products, support product release activities, participate in sensory evaluation programmes, and help maintain laboratory systems in line with Good Laboratory Practice, 5S standards and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct sampling and testing of in-process and finished products using approved laboratory methods
  • Identify and escalate out-of-specification results against quality control and product specifications
  • Support timely product release through accurate and efficient quality testing
  • Participate in sensory training and sensory evaluation activities
  • Maintain laboratory equipment calibration, consumables and documentation
  • Ensure laboratory records, samples and quality systems are maintained accurately and compliantly
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and 5S activities
  • Champion health, safety and wellbeing standards across all activities

 

Please note, you will be required to work on different shifts (including evenings) - we're 24/5 with our operation.

About you | Nō hea koe

You are someone who takes pride in accuracy, thrives in a team environment, and has a passion for quality. You enjoy solving problems, have strong attention to detail, and are committed to maintaining high standards in everything you do.

 

You'll bring:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
  • A strong commitment to health and safety practices
  • The ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions

 

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Experience in a food, beverage, manufacturing or laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 9001 and/or ISO 17025 quality systems
  • A qualification in Quality Assurance, Food Technology, Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience conducting laboratory testing and sensory evaluations
