We are looking for an Electrical Apprentice to join our Wiri Engineering team in Auckland. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career and develop into a qualified Electrician through a structured apprenticeship programme.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced tradespeople, supporting the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems across our manufacturing site. You’ll combine practical on-the-job learning with formal training, building technical capability in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repair work under supervision
• Learning to interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Supporting equipment upgrades, continuous improvement, and reliability projects
• Maintaining accurate job records using CMMS systems (SAP)
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company and legislative requirements
• Participating in safety initiatives, including hazard identification and toolbox talks
• Completing all required off-site training and apprenticeship coursework

You’re someone who is curious, motivated, and ready to build a career in electrical engineering or maintenance. You enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and learning new technical skills.

We’re looking for:

• A strong commitment to completing a 4-year electrical apprenticeship
• Interest in electrical, automation, or engineering trades
• NCEA Level 2 (or equivalent), ideally including maths and physics
• A proactive attitude with a focus on safety and teamwork
• Willingness to work shifts
• Strong communication skills and a desire to learn

Bonus points if you have:

• Pre-trade electrical or engineering study
• Some hands-on experience with tools, machinery, or maintenance work
