We are looking for an Electrical Apprentice to join our Wiri Engineering team in Auckland. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career and develop into a qualified Electrician through a structured apprenticeship programme.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced tradespeople, supporting the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems across our manufacturing site. You’ll combine practical on-the-job learning with formal training, building technical capability in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repair work under supervision
- Learning to interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Supporting equipment upgrades, continuous improvement, and reliability projects
- Maintaining accurate job records using CMMS systems (SAP)
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company and legislative requirements
- Participating in safety initiatives, including hazard identification and toolbox talks
- Completing all required off-site training and apprenticeship coursework

You’re someone who is curious, motivated, and ready to build a career in electrical engineering or maintenance. You enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and learning new technical skills.
We’re looking for:
- A strong commitment to completing a 4-year electrical apprenticeship
- Interest in electrical, automation, or engineering trades
- NCEA Level 2 (or equivalent), ideally including maths and physics
- A proactive attitude with a focus on safety and teamwork
- Willingness to work shifts
- Strong communication skills and a desire to learn
Bonus points if you have:
- Pre-trade electrical or engineering study
- Some hands-on experience with tools, machinery, or maintenance work
