Senior Buyer in Logistics

You have strong competences to develop market knowledge expertise to drive best procurement operations and you know how to optimize quality, cost and service performance of the suppliers.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Logistics in Suntory Beverage and Food includes warehousing, transport, pallets and forklifts for a total spend of 160m euros per year in all Europe, as well as c.100 suppliers and a team of 3 people. In that context, as Logistics Senior Buyer, you are part of the Industrial Procurement Team (10 people). You will daily work on 3 areas.

Firstly, you role includes to create long-lasting relations with your internal and external Stackholders. As a Business Partner on logistics, you will business partner on logistics for the GB & Spanish markets (ie 65m euros spend), from searching new sourcing, to tendering and embedding strong relationship with the new supplier. You will work closely with European Operations, Finance and Legal teams, developing the specification/brief, negotiating with suppliers, preparing sourcing cases for decision making, contract management but also looking for new opportunities and efficiencies in the categories you will manage, including reducing our carbon footprint to meet 2030 Suntory Group objectives.

You will manage the logistics strategy with regards to your perimeter in terms of purchasing. That means you will maintain and improve an efficient outbound logistics network in continental Europe, in collaboration with various cross functional stackholders. Furthermore, your interest to understand the Supply Chain functionment will help you to create your logistics category. Finally, you will have the opportunity to work in English since you will lead one or two European categories building the strategic plan, influencing and implementing it while monitoring its impacts.

 

Then, your data interest and volonty to continue working in a continuous improvement and efficiency way will be the opportunity to ensure your suppliers delivery and service targets fulfilled, good KPIs evolution and you will develop appropriate action plan with suppliers to drive better efficiency and effective risk management. You will ultimately contribute to driving team efficiency and defining best in class sourcing processes & tools.

Skills and Experience

What you bring to the table 
•    Strong analytical and project management skills 
•    Team player that thrives in cross cultural teams
•    Autonomous and with excellent communication skills, able to connect with remote-based teammates and stakeholders at all hierarchical level
•    Purchasing/and or supply chain experience 
•    Agility and solution driven mindset, always finding new opportunities and curious 
•    Fluent in English and Spanish; French is a plus 
•    Travelling will be involved to be close to the GEMBA
