THE JOB
As Commercial Finance Manager – Retail Channel, you will own the financial management of a key sales channel in Spain. This is a hands-on role that combines people leadership with direct involvement in forecasting, performance tracking, and trade investment decisions.
You will manage a team of two and partner closely with Retail Sales Directors. Your focus will be to ensure robust forecasts, monitor performance, and optimize trade and promotional spend. You will also be responsible for reporting and month-end processes, while supporting finance transformation projects across Iberia.
This role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in dynamic FMCG environments, enjoys influencing strategy while staying operationally involved, and wants to make a tangible impact on business performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management & Performance
- Lead forecasting and performance management for the retail channel.
- Provide insights on margins, pricing, customer mix and promotions.
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end reporting.
Business Partnering
- Act as the main finance partner for the Retail Sales Directors and commercial teams.
- Support decisions on customer plans, promotions and pricing with clear financial recommendations.
- Optimize trade marketing and promotional investments.
Team Leadership
- Co-lead the finance transformation journey together with the Finance Director.
- Manage and develop a team of 2, setting clear objectives and ensuring growth and career development.
- Promote collaboration and a high-performance culture within the team.
Collaboration & Improvement
- Work closely with Iberia finance colleagues, sharing best practices and supporting cross-market projects.
- Drive improvements in tools, processes and reporting quality.
- Encourage the use of digital and analytical solutions (SAP, Power BI, data tools).
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
- Solid experience in finance, with proven experience as a Finance Manager. FMCG background is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of P&L management, commercial finance processes, and investment decision-making.
- High commercial acumen and ability to challenge and support the business.
- Experience in people management or readiness to guide, support, and coordinate colleagues.
- Autonomous, accountable, and able to set priorities, make decisions, and act as a role model.
- Advanced SAP and Excel skills; experience or strong interest in Power BI, analytics, and digital tools.
- Confident presenting to management, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
- Able to drive improvements, contribute to transformation initiatives, and ensure decision-making aligns with company objectives.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (oral and written).
- Self-aware, proactive, resilient, and open to feedback. A team player with initiative, collaboration skills, and a growth mindset.
