Reporting to a Senior Finance Business Partner, you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity to shape the future of one of the Iberia Sales Channels.
YOUR ROLE
As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Portugal, Channel Managers, and their teams to achieve commercial targets through insightful analysis and effective decision-making. You will collaborate closely with the Sales Teams on commercial forecasting and performance reviews, driving more accurate forecasts and supporting the creation and execution of robust commercial plans. This includes identifying risks and opportunities, as well as scenario planning.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring clear and consistent communication of performance and issues to key stakeholders, and aligning the Sales Teams with key performance drivers and commercial targets. You will be an integral part of the multi-functional Channel Sales Team, providing support and challenge to drive performance.
You will embed best practices in trade spend management across the Sales Teams, ensuring effective revenue management and control policies are adhered to for optimal pricing and customer mix. Additionally, you will manage customer discounts (trade funds) efficiently for the best return.
Key commercial plans executed by the Sales Team, such as annual Joint Business Planning (JBP) agreements and promotions, will be supported by your sound financial appraisals. You will also identify training needs within the Sales Teams and work to develop a strong, self-sufficient team.
You will be responsible for the month-end close process, ensuring adherence to policies and controls. Sharing best practices with peers and acting as a role model in the transformation of the finance department will be essential aspects of your role.

WHAT DO I NEED TO SUCCED ON THE ROLE
- Financial Acumen: Qualified accountant with a proven track record.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience in working within and leading cross-functional teams and projects.
- Commercial Business Partnering: Expertise in providing finance support for commercial business partnering, ideally within sales channels and embedded customer hierarchies.
- Trade Funds Management: Strong understanding of trade funds management and the FMCG industry.
- Accounting Standards: Understanding of International Accounting Standards for revenue reporting and treatment.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of SAP FI and CO-PA modules will be an advantage.
- Communication: Confident and credible in front of sales teams.
- Assertiveness and Tact: Ability to challenge the Sales Team with a healthy balance of assertiveness and tact.
- Relationship Building: Proven track record of building good working relationships.
- Resilience: High level of resilience under pressure.
- Prioritisation and Decision Making: Proven ability to effectively prioritize and make decisions, ideally during periods of significant business change.
