The Opportunity:

We are now seeking a Systems Engineer to be the face of Digital & IT on site – someone who can own issues end‑to‑end, strengthen our IT/OT security posture, and confidently support a modern manufacturing environment.

This is a hands‑on, site‑based role where you will take accountability for the stability, security, and performance of IT infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations.

You will work closely with OT automation teams, central IT, and external vendors to ensure IT/OT environments are robust, secure, and aligned with best practice, particularly the Purdue model of network segregation.

This role suits someone who is comfortable taking initiative, calling out risk, and driving issues to resolution rather than waiting to be directed.

What you'll do:

  • Be the on‑site Digital & IT lead at the Swanbank facility, managing incidents, escalations, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Support and maintain networking, compute, and virtual infrastructure, including Cisco, Windows Server, and VMware.
  • Lead IT/OT security improvements, including:
    • Active Directory hardening
    • Firewall and network segmentation improvements
    • Alignment to the Purdue IT/OT model
  • Partner with OT teams to maintain strong operational boundaries while enabling manufacturing outcomes.
  • Manage and coordinate third‑party vendors and MSPs to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Lead and contribute to infrastructure and security projects, identifying risks and driving solutions.
  • Confidently call out issues, risks, and constraints, ensuring they are addressed early and effectively.

Ingredients for Success:

From refreshing favourites like Maximus to high-energy icons like V Energy, great brands start with the right ingredients, and so do great people in this role, we are looking for a mix of:

  • Experience working in, or supporting, manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of converged IT/OT infrastructure and network segregation.
  • Working knowledge of the Purdue model. (Highly desirable)
  • Strong technical capability across:
    • Cisco networking
    • Windows Server & Active Directory
    • VMware / virtual infrastructure
  • A self‑starter mindset, someone who takes ownership and drives outcomes.
  • Confidence to challenge, escalate, and communicate risk when required.
  • Proven experience coordinating work across internal teams and external vendors.

Personal Attributes

  • Proactive, accountable, and delivery‑focused.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and unplanned issues.
  • Calm, confident communicator who can engage operational and technical stakeholders.

What's in it for you?

  • Be part of a landmark manufacturing facility from an enterprise‑grade technology perspective.
  • Play a critical role in shaping secure, modern IT/OT environments.
  • Exposure to large‑scale infrastructure, security, and manufacturing initiatives across ANZ.
  • Grow your career, we like to promote from within and have incredible learning and development opportunities around the world.
  • Quarterly product allowance to spend at our staff shop.
  • Drive transformation and innovation in a future-fit operating model.
  • Generous incentive program for all of our permanent employees.
  • An inclusive parental leave policy for both primary and secondary caregivers.
  • Birthday leave – enjoy a day off to celebrate your birthday.
  • Gradual return to work to help you transition back from parental leave.
  • Work in a culture that values diversity, collaboration and growth.
  • Flexible working – flexible hours and hybrid working.
  • We are committed to giving back to our communities, so we provide you with volunteer leave to do so.
