Operational Planning Lead - Swanbank

The Opportunity

The Operational Planning Lead is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and coordination of the site-based planning team (Material Planners and Production Planners) at Swanbank. This role ensures effective execution of material and production planning processes and acts as the key link between site operations and the broader network planning function.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Accountable for developing the ‘long-term’ production plan for all production lines (weeks 4 to 52).
  • Ensure production plans are aligned with demand, capacity, and material availability.
  • Responsible for modelling and planning stock-builds / plant shut-downs.
  • Compiles, interprets and publishes capacity data to support the monthly IBP cycle (Capacity Review and Supply Review).
  • Ensure alignment of site plans with policies set by the Network Operational Planning Manager.
  • Oversee and support the execution of material and production planning activities.
  • Monitor adherence to planning processes, tools, and systems, driving consistency and best practice at the site.
  • Responsible for compiling and issuing daily / weekly attainment numbers.
  • Maintain all master data for production planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, tools, and systems at the site.

Experience that you will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • FMCG experience.
  • Extensive experience in SAP System.
  • Managerial and Leadership experience.
  • Proven experience to lead a team and to influence and coach people including experience with translating the technical into easily understandable language and concepts.
