About your role
We are the Compliance & Ethics function, responsible for safeguarding the Company’s integrity, ensuring compliance with laws and internal policies, and promoting a strong ethical culture across the organization. We work closely with leadership and business functions to manage compliance risks and enable sustainable growth.
As part of the Compliance Team, the Assistant Legal Manager / Legal Counsel / Legal Specialist – Compliance & Ethics supports the Legal Manager / Compliance & Ethics Officer in advising the business on compliance, ethics, and risk-related matters. The role contributes to strengthening the control environment, managing Speak Up processes, and embedding compliance and integrity into daily operations.
What You'll Do
'1. Speak Up & Control Environment
- Support monitoring and operation of the Speak Up channel, ensuring confidentiality, reliability, and timely handling of cases.
- Document, track, analyze, and follow up on Speak Up cases, including investigation progress and outcomes.
- Support development and tracking of corrective action plans and CEC follow-up actions.
- Prepare data, analysis, and materials for Control Environment Committee (CEC) reporting.
2. Compliance Program & Policies
- Support localization, implementation, and review of compliance policies and procedures (including ABC).
- Support compliance with applicable anti‑corruption laws (e.g. FCPA, UKBA, and local regulations).
- Review and advise on pre-approvals and post-reporting related to gifts, entertainment, sponsorships, donations, and other sensitive transactions.
- Support compliance due diligence for third parties and business partners.
- Maintain complete and accurate compliance records and documentation.
3. Training & Culture of Integrity
- Organize and support compliance & ethics training programs for employees and relevant stakeholders.
- Support deployment of regional compliance initiatives and quarterly CEC communications.
- Support periodic Control Environment assessments, reporting, and improvement action plans.
4. Compliance Health Check
- Coordinate compliance health checks across key legal areas with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support self‑assessment guidance, on‑site reviews, reporting, and follow‑up on remediation actions.
- Provide practical tools, checklists, and best practices to business and functional teams.
5. Data Privacy Program Build‑Up & Operations (Primary Focus)
- Privacy Program Governance: Develop and maintain privacy frameworks and policies and automation platform; embed privacy-by-design into new systems and processes; oversee consent governance and data subject rights handling.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret evolving privacy regulations; ensure timely regulatory reporting and manage data breach response protocols.
- Risk Assessment & Continuous Improvement: Conduct privacy gap assessments and compliance health checks: recommend and implement corrective actions; maintain records of processing and oversee data classification and retention practices.
- Data Subject Rights & Consent Management: Create centralized systems for handling data subject requests; ensure SLA compliance and audit traceability; design and maintain consent collection and management procedures.
- Training & Awareness: Support to develop and deliver role-based privacy training programs; lead awareness campaigns; promote a privacy-first culture through internal communication and CEC updates.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with IT, People & Culture, Marketing, and Operations to embed privacy controls into business processes; support vendor due diligence and contractual safeguards for data handling.
- Technical & Operational Controls: Implement and maintain privacy platform (OneTrust) and controls, including Record of Processing, data classification,
retention protocols, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and access rights review programs
6. Others
- Prepare materials and presentations for CEC and compliance projects.
- Support automation, simplification initiatives, and other tasks as assigned.
What You need to be successful
- Law Degree, auditor background, experience in dealing with compliance issues are preferred.
- From 2 years of experience in Compliance/ Internal Audit at Big4 is a Plus.
- Basic understanding of how to enforce the rules regulating the company.
- Able to deal and work with businesses, employees, and managers tactfully and professionally.
- Influencing skills, result-oriented, change management.
- Independence, communication, and interview skill, including the ability to ask the “tough” questions.
- Excellent in MS Office. Good in database, analysis skills.
