Financial Planning Manager - Capex
Job Summary
- Be a business partner with Operations (Project and Plants), IT, BTO, GA, Sales, and Supply Chain to plan and manage their capital expenditure (CAPEX) funds. This role contributes to support to deliver the company’s strategic long-term plan by 1) planning the three-year CAPEX investment; 2) Support to evaluating returns on essential investment projects which link to business operations; 3) closely working with Procurement, Budget owners, and Control to ensure all CAPEX projects following projects’ timeline and payment due dates. 4)Manage and drive all timeline/communication/agenda of MTP/AOP/Forecast submission with high commitment of due date. Convey the business strategy from Strategic investments to Operation investments to ensure productivity and minimize costs.
- Required to plan the company’s annual cash flow and monitoring to ensure achievement. Support profit targets by analyzing and modeling the impact of OPEX costs related to CAPEX investment, asset’s depreciation and write-off on the company’s income statement.
- This role is required to work effectively cross-functions to achieve business priorities and is required to have strategic thinking, deep business understanding, presentation skill, Data analysis, solving problem skill, leading group discussion.
- Provide Post evaluation analysis with highlights and recommendation to strengthen effective investment
Job Responsibilities
1. In charge of providing analysis package/approval process for all investment
• Conduct to make financial models and business case to ensure returns on investment of Middle size of CAPEX excluding large CAPEX projects for Growth and
• Expansion each year. Justify data from functions and other planning sub-teams to ensure reasonable assumptions captured.
• Write CAPEX Memo for these Middle size of CAPEX projects (Under USD 300M) in limited time, to meet the project deadline requirement.
• Reviewing opportunity/risks for all operational investments.
• Evaluate over 300 investment requests each year by reviewing the business need and rationale while supporting users to comply with CAPEX approval processes.
• With dynamic nature, more and more out of AOP CAPEX projects occur to meet the business’s need, a sharp increase in CAPEX’s analysis needed to manage effective CAPEX transfer with flexible priorities, ask for Board members’ and Suntory Singapore’s approval is presented.
• Support Strategic CAPEX planning manager to make post-evaluation for large CAPEX projects and present key learnings to management levels.
• Get insight Strategic view from Strategic CAPEX manager and convey it to operational investment in order to avoid huge impact to cost line of each year
2. Managing, tracking, and controlling investment budgets and cash payments of all investment
• Lead monthly review actual CAPEX capitalization and CIP to ensure high quality data and prepare for all potential question in Monthly business call with
• Suntory with high pressure due to time constraint. Provide causes of change in the difference with forecasted data of 200 – 300 projects
• Responsibility for Cash Forecast together with Capitalization. This is totally new approach per requirement from Suntory. Lead monthly tracking actual CAPEX payment to suppliers
• Lead communication with operational team to manage spill over amount from FY FCST timing in order to ensure landing of FY FCST amount with high accuracy.
• Control the CAPEX spending within the approved budget and support users to monitor their budgets through CAPEX transfer among projects.
• Manage all submission timeline and communication with Operation side about FCST/AOP/MTP of CAPEX related
3. Consulting budget owners on CAPEX guideline, compliance process
• Deploy CAPEX guideline instruction to budget owners to follow on time.
• Conduct budget monitoring in SAP system for compliance PR/PO and GR/IR (Good Receipt/ Invoice Receipt) process.
• Support to simplify process by reviewing SOA and SOP
• Contribute to SAP system improvement in order to speed up CAPEX process with high compliance from planning perspective.
4. Roll out AOP CAPEX and forecast impact of OPEX cost related to CAPEX investment on the company’s income statement
• Work with all functions to construct the annual AOP CAPEX
• Respond for rolling forecast of annual depreciation and OPEX testing costs related to CAPEX that directly impacts on the company’s income statement.
• Monthly tracking and closely support Control to review the write-off or idle assets caused by new investments
• Prepare for timely simulation of OPEX impact from CAPEX including write off cost, in order to support to achieve AOP PL target.
5. Supporting Procurement in setting targets in bidding, working with suppliers to settle non-standardized payment terms, and reviewing commercial terms in contracts and bonds.
6. Other tasks assigned by Line Manager.
Skills and Experience
- University Graduate; Master in - Accounting/Finance, ACCA/ CFA are preferred. VAS, IFRS, GAAP background
- 5 years’ experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
- Macro economics, relevant Manufacturing, Market Share, Sales & Distribution strategy;
