Corporate Affairs Director - Sustainability

About your role

This is to lead and embed sustainability as a strategic driver of long-term value creation for SPVB, ensuring that environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles are integrated into business strategy, operations, and culture. The role champions enterprise-wide sustainability efforts that align with SPVB’s purpose, values, and growth ambitions.

What You'll Do

1. Strategic Planning

  • Lead the sustainability agenda by co-developing a unified roadmap aligned with corporate priorities and global ESG frameworks.
  • Integrate sustainability goals into business planning cycles, ensuring they are reviewed annually for relevance and impact.
  • Translate long-term commitments into actionable plans across functions, with clear KPIs and accountability.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to ExCom on emerging ESG trends, regulatory risks, and opportunities for leadership positioning.

2. Program Management

Drive direct impact across three core pillars:

  • Water of Life (water stewardship and community access)
  • Sustainable Container & Packaging (circular economy, waste reduction)
  • Enriching Life (community engagement and social impact)
Oversee execution of initiatives under six enterprise pillars, ensuring delivery against objectives, timelines, and budgets.
Establish governance mechanisms for tracking progress, escalating risks, and ensuring compliance.
Apply a shared leadership model, co-leading cross-functional projects with equal authority and influence.
 

3. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Forge strategic partnerships with internal teams, NGOs, government agencies, and industry associations to amplify impact.
  • Host stakeholder forums to align priorities, share progress transparently, and foster collaboration.
  • Integrate stakeholder feedback into planning cycles to strengthen relevance, credibility, and trust.
  • Position SPVB as a trusted sustainability leader in Vietnam and on the global stage.
  • Elevate SPVB’s ESG leadership through active participation in external forums and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Collaborate with government bodies, authorities, and associations to scale ESG programs and drive systemic change.
  • Coordinate ESG policy advocacy efforts to shape a regulatory environment that enables innovation, attracts investment, and accelerates partnerships.

4. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion innovation in sustainable packaging, water stewardship, GHG reduction agenda and community programs.
  • Pilot new technologies and approaches that deliver measurable impact.
  • Embed continuous improvement practices into sustainability operations.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation and learning across teams.

5. Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure full adherence to environmental laws, regulations, and global ESG standards.
  • Maintain audit readiness and accurate documentation.
  • Develop sustainability dashboards for internal tracking and external reporting.
  • Publish transparent progress updates, including annual sustainability reports aligned with global frameworks (GRI, CSRD).

6. Team Leadership & Sustainability Culture Building

  • Lead and develop a high-performing sustainability team with clear roles, KPIs, and growth plans.
  • Act as the central point of contact for sustainability across SPVB functions.
  • Drive company-wide awareness and behavioral change through campaigns and training.
  • Embed sustainability into corporate culture, making it a shared responsibility across all functions.
