We are looking for an Area Sales Manager – Lower South Island (Grocery & Route Channels, Non-Alcohol) to lead a team of Territory Managers across Dunedin and the wider Southern region.

Reporting to the Regional Business Manager (Southern Region), you will be responsible for leading, coaching and developing a high-performing sales team to achieve sales targets, grow and promote our product range, and identify new business opportunities.

 

As a key member of the Southern Region sales leadership team, you will create a motivating and engaging environment where your team can thrive while delivering strong commercial outcomes.

 

You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to drive execution, productivity and customer success.

You are passionate about developing people and building high-performing teams. You use commercial insights, customer understanding and data-driven decision-making to improve effectiveness and drive growth.

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous leadership experience or demonstrated readiness to step into a people leadership role
  • Strong coaching and development capability, with a track record of helping others succeed
  • Experience within a sales environment, ideally within FMCG
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, relationship-building and influencing skills
  • A passion for delivering results and building a winning sales culture
  • Strong analytical capability and confidence interpreting sales performance data
  • Experience supporting or leading change initiatives (desirable)
  • High learning agility and the ability to foster a growth mindset within your team
  • Excellent organisation, planning and prioritisation skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to leadership and business challenges

 

As this role covers Dunedin and the wider Southern region, regular travel and overnight stays away from home are required.
