Warehouse Operator
ABOUT YOU
In this role, you'll be at the heart of our warehouse operations. You'll be responsible for receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, ensuring everything flows seamlessly. Your keen eye for detail will be essential as you accurately record all transactions, maintaining precise inventory records. If you're someone who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment and enjoys being a vital part of a team, this role is perfect for you!
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this position, you'll be responsible for maintaining an accurate account of all goods received, transferred, issued, or dispatched, aiming for an accuracy level of at least 98%. You'll generate automated goods out/transfer notes for all goods leaving the site and check the integrity of each pallet received, taking appropriate action if standards aren't met.
You'll store goods in strict rotation and appropriate locations, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed. Issuing goods to internal customers efficiently and in strict rotation to meet their requirements will be part of your duties. You'll also handle returned goods, such as quarantines and export stock, completing all necessary paperwork to maintain control over stock levels.
Conducting random stock inventory checks to achieve a minimum data accuracy of 98% will be essential. You'll maintain good housekeeping standards and Health & Safety practices to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment. Additionally, you'll carry out visual inspections of departmental Forklift Trucks at the beginning of each shift to ensure they function correctly in line with Health & Safety Regulations.
Your flexibility will contribute to enhancing the overall performance of the warehouse. You'll be responsible for Product Safety and Product Quality as defined by regulatory, Suntory, and local procedures, escalating any issues that might compromise these standards. Keeping up to date with mandatory courses and SOP sign-offs will also be part of your role.
WHAT I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
You need GCSEs with grades A – C in Mathematics and English. A forklift licence is essential, but training will be provided. You should have good computer skills, literacy, and numeracy. Strong planning and prioritizing abilities are important, as is a strong focus on customer needs. Familiarity with 5S principles is also required.
The limited space in the warehouse demands excellent organizational skills and flexibility to store goods safely and correctly. You must be able to handle sudden changes in production output, which can lead to peaks and troughs in workload, requiring a proactive approach. A sound understanding of the Coleford site is necessary to provide effective service.
You will need to prioritize and make decisions on day-to-day issues, referring anything outside normal procedures to the Warehouse Team Leader. You'll interact mainly with Packaging, Blends, and Planning teams, and have daily contact with haulage contractors responsible for distributing goods to 3PL.
