Day Shift Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a member of the Maintenance Engineering team, you will work under the direction of the Engineering Line Owner to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. Your key responsibilities include demonstrating safe working behavior, conforming to site safety standards, and leading behavioral safety programs. You will ensure product quality through appropriate maintenance activities and reporting identified failures. You will issue ATW, Hot Work, and Working at Height permits when required. You will develop and execute planned maintenance activities to improve reliability and support SAP PM and other systems. You will drive root cause analysis, coach and mentor shift engineers, and embed TPM pillars. You will monitor reliability metrics, support the transition to proactive maintenance, and deliver innovative solutions to reduce downtime. You will contribute to the site capital investment program by highlighting areas for improvement. You will support stock accuracy and service levels through adherence to stock control policies. You will identify skills gaps, contribute to training plans, and develop automation capabilities.

WHAT I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

To be successful in this role, you need qualifications and professional experience, including an Indentured Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC within Engineering Discipline, and years of experience in an engineering-based field (FMCG environment would be an asset). You need skills and knowledge such as good oral and written communication skills, basic computer skills, knowledge of process control systems, and the ability to adapt and learn. Personal attributes required include good levels of dexterity, capability to perform manual handling operations, right-first-time attitude, ability to work autonomously, strong problem-solving ability, and commitment to customer service.
