Commercial Strategy & Planning Controller

ABOUT YOU

As our Commercial Strategy & Planning Controller for the Island of Ireland you will play a critical role in driving our sustainable, profitable growth. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Excellence, this leadership position will provide strategic commercial direction across Channels and Brands, ensuring the right commercial plans are in place and flawlessly executed to meet performance targets.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

  • Develop Our Future Commercial Strategy: Collaborate with the Sales team, the RGM Controller and other functions to shape long-term commercial strategies.    Develop and deploy our ‘Go to market frameworks’ and provide key commercial input into Brand and Innovation initiatives.
  • Execute In-Year Plans to deliver growth:  Lead the cross functional team responsible for activating our brand plans in market to ensure the right prioritisation for the business and clarity for the field teams.    Develop opportunities to close gaps or mitigate risks to achieving our budget.  Specifically, lead the execution and tracking of key RGM initiatives such as price changes and ensure the Go to market frameworks are being adhered to.
  • Delivering our Integrated Business Planning process (IBP) : Act as the "midfield" of the business, ensuring alignment , clarity and connectivity across the team as we execute ONE PLAN.  Specifically, leading key monthly meetings like our Demand Management Review (DMR) to align our demand and supply forecasts and our Commercial Planning Meeting (CPM where we share updates and progress.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Commercial Expertise: A deep understanding of FMCG sales, P&L management, and the ability to model different scenarios and assess commercial proposals.
  • Analytical Thinker: Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to derive insights from multiple data sources and quickly identify performance gaps.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Authentic leadership skills to drive change, influence key stakeholders, and foster collaboration at all levels of the business, including EXCOM.
  • FMCG Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the FMCG industry, with a focus on project management and executing against business objectives.
