Supervisor, Quality Assurance Dept

Job Summary

You will be responsible to ensure timely and effective implementation of Suntory’s policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of manufactured products. Close working relationships with other department in order to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for ensuring SBFTW suppliers are meeting the highest standards for quality, food safety and compliance.
  2. Supervise and direct QA team to enforce quality-related policies in order to meet product quality standards.
  3. Review manufacturing-related documents to verify compliance and record keeping for all manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling, etc.
  4. Quality control of raw materials, package materials, WIP products, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory standards.
  5. Follow up with implemented programs, (GHP, HACCP, Allergen Control, Cleaning and Sanitation, Pest Control, Equipment Calibration, etc.) to ensure compliance by all employees in the manufacturing facility.
  6. Assist in the coordination of testing results involving finished products, WIP products, package materials, and raw materials and the appropriate release or block programs associated with these materials.
  7. Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including consumer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
  8. Share knowledge, skills, and information with QA team and across functional areas.
  9. Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs which ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support in order to meet product quality standards.
  10. Ensure good performance by QA team by mentoring, training, setting expectations, providing accountability, and performing evaluations.
  11. Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings.
  12. Perform other duties as directed by Senior QA Manager.

Skills and Experience

Knowledge

- Good knowledge of Quality standards such as GMP, FSSC22000

- Good understanding of quality testing within the food and beverage industry to include analytical, microbiological, and sensory evaluation.

Technical/Work-based Skills

- Ability to work under pressure (in an extremely fast paced environment), meet deadlines (overtime work required) and make effective decisions.

- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, SAP

General Skills/Attributes -

- Basic English is required.

- Good communication and networking skills

- Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.

- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.

Experience

At least 5 years of work experience as quality assurance in dietary supplements, food/beverage, or pharmaceutical industry and at least 1 year of experience in supervisory capacity.

Education

Bachelors in Food Science or Quality Assurance
