Health And Safety Coordinator

You are a seasoned EHS professional with solid leadership experience in operational EHS roles, preferably within the FMCG sector. You possess a strong technical understanding of legislative safety requirements, manufacturing plant design, and operational standards. Your strategic thinking, leadership skills, and ability to drive change make you an ideal candidate for this role. You are passionate about developing a culture of safety and environmental responsibility and have a proven track record of implementing successful EHS strategies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for managing compliance with current Environmental, Health, and Safety laws, regulations, and best practices. You will lead the development and implementation of SBFS's EHS strategy, management systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your role will involve liaising with stakeholders to promote the SBFS Corporate Social Responsibility agenda and ensuring the effective management and escalation of EHS risks. You will also lead the EHS teams, supporting direct and indirect employees, contractors, and business partners.

  • Key Competencies and Skills:
    • Strong leadership competencies including strategic thinking, providing vision, leading change, and delivering results.
    • Ability to identify and support HS-related capital projects.
    • Strong people management skills with experience in people development and succession planning.
    • Ability to effectively network, engage, and influence people across SBF/SBFE.
    • Personal drive and effectiveness with a positive, 'can do' mindset.
  • Qualifications and Professional Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
    • Solid EHS leadership experience, preferably within an FMCG role.
    • Experience in communicating complex issues to a non-technical audience
    • Experience in using data for risk-based EHS decision-making
    • Experience in managing effective waste and recycling operations.
    • Proven development of people managers.
