Trade Marketing Assistant Manager

Job Responsibilities

The role is responsible for the following

  • Developing category & channel strategy - including Category Growth Agenda and Category Investment Strategy to profitably maximize Suntory category market share.
  • Execute the IBP process by identifying the key opportunities (incorporating understanding on shoppers, category, customer, competition, channel and external environment) and develop a commercial activity calendar for the Category.
  • Define strategies and plans that deliver category or sub category growth based on consumer, shopper and customer requirements. 
  • Identify priority channels for the Category/ sub Category and work with Channel Managers to recommend tailored Category Channel plans in line with overall market strategy.
  • Contribute to Marketing team on Product element especially on Packaging Design which is one of the core in-store visibity criteria according to shopper research result.
  • Work with Shopper understanding and Activation team and Channel team to develop the Perfect Store for the Category/ sub Category in each channel. Recommends actionable in-store solutions to support Perfect Store. Supports its implementation and continuously reviews the effectiveness of in-store actions.
  • Monitoring promotional trends, initiatives and competitor actions by Category/ sub Category, priority channels and strategic customers. Identify and recommend promotional opportunities for Suntory categories and Brands. Plan promotions for general trade channel with R&C management 
  • Responsible for supporting innovation & renovation based on shopper understanding which includes identifying opportunities and product conceptualizing.
  • Preparing and implementing new product trade launch plan and conducting pre and post evaluation.
  • Recommending winning commercial propositions for the category, effectively communicating these to Customer Team and Sales Operation team as appropriate.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should possess

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or Economics.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in Trade Marketing or Sales within GT and MT channels in FMCG.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills (ability to build impactful relationship with stakeholders).
  • Cross functional mindset.
  • Strong data analytics capability.
  • Persuasive presentation skills.
  • Natural curiosity and willingness to learn new skills.
