Senior Sales Controller

Job Summary

The Senior Sales Controller is responsible for end-to-end business partnering to Commercial Sales department (MT, GT and E- Commerce, Trade Mkt, ComEx) in driving great performance by generating high quality and insightful financial plans and forecast/budgeting.
He/she will be responsible for preparing & reviewing financials reports and analysis on identifying gap to budget, evaluating financial proposal of close gap plan and ensure commercial controls are in place adequately.

Job Responsibilities

Budgeting, Forecasting and Modelling
•    Lead Channel Specific Sales Controllers to consolidate and prepare finance reporting i.e. month end actuals analysis, monthly rolling forecast, annual budget planning etc. (P&L, B/S, Cash Flow, Capex, other required reports).
•    Supervise team to analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, trade spend, consumer promotion, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures.
•    Monitor performance indicators & unexpected variances, highlighting trends, analyzing causes & communicating effectively with management 
•    Oversee and manage the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Mid-Term Plan and Promotional Spend Modeling tools.
•    Build financial models / tools to support robust planning and forecasting processes as well as variance analysis.
•    Drive quality financial management reports with accuracy and visibility.

Process Control & Optimization
•    Lead team to monitor total sales budget, including trade spend, consumer promotion, premium.
•    Lead team to develop and continuously optimize financial processes/ systems in the country.
•    Ensure compliance with company policies.

Decision Support & Advice
•    Advise management on decisions using data analysis to improve performance, minimize risk or capture new opportunities from both within the company and with external environment
•    Monitor and drive company actual performance vs. LY, Budget, Previous Forecast, KPIs through various analysis. Identify key variances and underlying reasons/root cause
•    Partner proactively with cross-functional team to identify risks & opportunities on both top and bottom line.  Find mitigation plans for gap closure and follow-up on the implementation of ideas/actions.
•    Provide financial supports/advice to commercial team in managing, Trade Spend, Sales Initiatives and Trade promotions.
•    Follow company regulations and all implemented standard system 
•    Other responsibilities as per Company assigned.

People Management and Development
•    Business partner with Sales Director and Commercial Leadership team (Channel Head, Commercial Excellence, Trade Marketing Head) 
•    Supervise Sales Controllers to ensure timely closing, updating monthly recurring reports and analysis and updating forecasting models
 

Skills and Experience

  • Experienced 12+ years in Finance in FMCG Business, prior experience sales controlling in multi-national FMCG business advantageous
  • Solid knowledge on end-to-end financial planning processes, good commercial acumen  
  • Experienced in leading new processes and drive changes while creating positive working environment.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills
  • Ability to work across multiple data sources to provide a holistic perspective.
  • Good commands in both Thai & English
  • Computer literature in Microsoft Office, especially MS. Excel and PowerPoint. SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • High drive for result and strong stakeholder management skill
