About your role

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Senior Commercial Excellence Manager to join our team at Suntory Beverage & Food Asia. This role supports the Category Development and Modern Trade Centre of Excellence (COE) by enabling the effective rollout, adoption, and execution of category-led strategies across Asia.

 

Working closely with the COE Lead, the role translates regional category direction and priorities into practical frameworks, playbooks, and capability-building programs that embed category-led thinking into customer engagement and in-store execution.

 

Acting as a regional enabler, the role supports markets in activating category strategy across Modern Trade, General Trade, and Perfect Store execution platforms, while capturing insights, best practices, and learning loops to continuously strengthen regional capability and COE effectiveness.

What You'll Do

Category Development

  • Support the COE Lead in operationalising regional Category Development direction and priorities across Asia
  • Translate category strategy, growth drivers, and demand spaces into simple, modular playbooks for market activation
  • Support markets in applying category strategy within customer planning, joint business planning, and activation

Category-Led Selling & Capability Enablement

  • Support the delivery, refinement, and market adoption of Category-Led Selling programs, aligned to COE priorities
  • Capture market feedback, best practices, and barriers to adoption, feeding insights back into the COE through structured PDCA learning cycles

Insights, Data & Learning Support

  • Support identification of priority insight gaps (e.g. POS, shopper, assortment, execution)
  • Develop data acquisition approaches and enable pilot initiatives (e.g. Modern Trade pilots in emerging markets)
  • Help markets translate available data and insights into clear, actionable category plans

Modern Trade Enablement

  • Design and pilot distributor-specific Joint Business Planning (JBP) processes
  • Ensure alignment to Modern Trade principles while adapting to distributor operating models and capabilities

Perfect Store

  • Shape and evolve PICOS for each market, in partnership with BU team
  • Align Perfect Store standards with category roles and activation zones

What You need to be successful

  • 5–8 years of experience in Commercial Excellence, Category Management, Sales, or related commercial roles
  • Experience working with Modern Trade and/or Distributor-led retail environments, preferably across Asia
  • Exposure to regional or multi-market operating environments is a strong advantage
  • Strong grounding in Category Management and shopper-led, insight-driven thinking
  • Proven experience translating insights into practical in-store execution and activation
  • Comfortable working with data, analytics, and emerging commercial tools to inform decision-making
  • Structured and lateral thinker with a strong bias for action and execution
  • Effective cross-cultural communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Highly collaborative, curious, and continuous improvement minded
