The Global Head of Data & analytics is responsible for providing leadership, oversight and direction of the data strategy for the Suntory Beverage and Food International (SBFI) organization. Specifically, will Lead, develop and deliver the enterprise data strategy for SBFI across all domains including sales, marketing, finance, Supply Chain & HR to name a few. The role will also lead the delivery of global data platforms & products and integration all local SBF APAC and SBF Europe platforms into the global platform.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Global Head of Data & Analytics for our international businesses. As the company transforms its business model to prepare for growth, the Digital & IT function serves as a catalyst for change, through strategic use of data, technology & AI.
The Global Head of Data & Analytics will be pivotal in transforming our data strategy, harnessing the power of data to drive business decisions, and ensuring the delivery of curated, ready-to-use data via modern data products, dashboards and for embedding Data Science (AI) enabled data products. The role will be a member of the global Digital & IT leadership team.
The role will interact with SBF International function leads (especially P&C, procurement, finance), Region function leaders and BU CEOs to identify key decisions and processes that need to be powered by Data & AI.
The role can be based in Singapore or Bangkok, Thailand.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
- Define and execute a comprehensive data strategy for all SBFI International businesses covering various domains of analytics incl performance management, RTM, SC, HR & marketing
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of more than 12 data professionals and an indirect team of over 50 around the world, including both the Data Product and Data Engineering teams
- Collaborate with senior leadership (company leadership team) and key stakeholders to identify data needs and opportunities across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the Digital – IT function esp the enterprise ERP platform team to ensure data is handled as a corporate asset and is not fragmented in Various Systems of Record.
Data Product Management
- Engage with multi-functional leaders, the Gemba and external partners to conceptualise, align and co-design the creation of data products that deliver actionable insights and enable better & faster decision making. This would include a combination of dashboards, simulators, data science and other data products
- Ensure data products are user-friendly, reliable, and aligned with business needs and are well adopted by multi-functional teams across regions
Data Engineering
- Overall leadership of the enterprise data platform on Data Bricks. Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of data across the organization.
- Lead all decision making on data architecture, jointly with the Enterprise technologies leader to create the right seamless data platform architecture
- Build selective data science and AI skills in the team to enable the most critical use cases
- Continuously innovate and experiment to identify the right self-service analytics technology to democratise data
Skills and Experience
- Strong experience with at least 5 years in CPG Data & Analytics.
- Experienced organization leader handling geographically distributed & multi-cultural teams
- Robust and deep understanding of the CPG business including and not limited to monthly & annual performance management routines, RTM-RGM concepts, marketing effectiveness concepts and supply chain analytics
- Demonstrated capability to develop, lead and execute a multi-year IT strategy across a multi-country geography
- The candidate will need to bring a unique mix of instant professional credibility and personal power based on knowledge and expertise
- A strategic yet hands on understanding of how data & technology can be leveraged to deliver better business outcomes and also as a transformational set of tools in the CPG industry
- Is grounded and in touch with a strong “gemba” orientation and will bring an entrepreneurial approach to driving the Digital & IT with a “Yatte Minahare” spirit
- Deep knowledge of data platforms, industry developments in the space of cloud, AI & ML. Ability to guide hands on engineering teams (both insourced and external partners)
- Strong vendor management skills to manage a network of external partners.
