Area Sales Manager

About your role

This position is responsible for managing distributor business in the assigned sales territories by building business partnership with distributors to achieve profitable growth both to the company and distributors, providing training and coaching distributors’ sales force to equip in market with professionalism and ability to manage existing stores and develop new stores, conducting business plan and business review with distributors mainly in terms of numeric distribution, sales performance and distributor operation. Do a basic analysis of sales data and providing recommendations to distributors to drive business results and maintain business advantage in the market. 

What You'll Do

  1. Manage Sell‑In Performance of Distributors
  • Work closely with distributors, Credit, and Pre‑Sale teams to drive sales performance.
  • Support distributors in developing indirect stores to generate market demand.
  • Ensure distributors achieve targets and maintain sustainable business growth.
  1. Manage Sell‑Out Performance of Sales Team
  • Monitor sales performance in collaboration with Credit Sales, Route Supervisors, and Pre‑Sales.
  • Focus on sales‑in to stores, track store off‑take, and drive in‑width and in‑depth distribution by shop type.
  • Manage top credit customers aligned with trade marketing plans.
  • Use territory insights to identify new channel opportunities.
  1. Recommend Operational Improvements for Distributors
  • Support enhancements in warehouse management, inventory (Stock Cover Day), logistics routing, and customer service.
  • Monitor accounting practices including debt tracking.
  • Provide system support for invoicing, reporting, and data processing.
  • Conduct meetings and communication sessions with distributor owners and teams.
  • Communicate updates and key messages from BSTT to distributors.
  1. Sales Capability Development
  • Coach and train distributor sales teams to improve sales processes and selling skills.
  • Develop Route Supervisors to become territory experts and ensure effective route planning for store coverage.
  • Monitor visit and call targets, payment collection processes, and timeliness.
  • Track reporting accuracy (order processing, scorecards, market reports).
  • Provide recommendations to achieve "In‑Store Excellent Execution."
  1. Monitor DSO Performance
  • Ensure distributors make on‑time payments to BSTT.
  • Monitor payment terms between indirect stores and distributors.
  • Oversee Pre‑Sales handling of deposit cheques, ensuring timely bank processing and document return.
  1. Initial Setup and Support
  • Support distributor operational setup during initial go‑live.
  • Coach Route Supervisors and Sales Representatives through training and in‑field guidance.
  1. Other Responsibilities
  • Comply with company regulations and standardized systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You need to be successful

  • FMCG experienced will be an advantage  

  • Proven expenrience in people management role
  • Positive attitude, Service mind, Honest and Reliable, Good co-ordination personality, Creative thinking  

  • Good co-ordination in team work, Team leader skill is advantage  

  • Problem solving skill, good analytical skill, business mind, profit P/L oriented, ROI and knowledge in budget management view  

  • Able to travel in up-country area
