The Opportunity
To assist us with our next phase of growth, this newly created role of Senior Commercial Manager – V Energy will be the voice of the V across our organisation. Reporting to the Brand Director – V Energy, this role plays a critical leadership role in shaping how we grow, shape and evolve this flagship brand in our organisation.
You will partner closely with brand, commercial, insights, supply chain and finance to develop and own the brand vision, ensuring it is translated into actionable strategies that drive long‑term equity and delivery of performance vs AOP & MTP. You will work across a range of projects to ultimately drive better financial and consumer outcomes for V across Australia and New Zealand.
What You'll Do:
- Act as a trusted strategic partner to the Brand Director – V Energy, helping to deliver brand strategy across annual and mid‑term horizons.
- Bring compelling financial, commercial, channel, shopper and consumer insights to inform “where to play” choices alongside Heads of Departments.
- Partner on innovation projects to ensure strong consumer, shopper, and customer viability & feasibility.
- Support senior marketing and commercial leaders with stakeholder alignment across the organisation to drive excitement and delivery of V plans.
- Present at key sales and customer forums on V strategy and gain commercial and customer buy in.
- Lead the integration of brand strategy into core business processes, including Mid‑Term Planning, Annual Operating Plans, and monthly reporting (brand health and financial)
- Coordinate cross‑functional workstreams to translate strategy into execution, including in‑store activation, customer ranging opportunities, fuel for growth, capex and business case opportunities.
- Act as the recognised subject matter expert for the Energy across key forums and be a senior leader in the New Zealand market and voice for V.
What you'll bring:
We’re looking for an individual with a strong track record of success in either Marketing , Commercial or Sales within the FMCG/Consumer Goods industry. To excel in this role it is essential that you have a strong aptitude and experience in effectively managing commercials to drive great outcomes. Coupled with these essential skills and experience you’ll need:-
- Ability to interpret and translate data into compelling insights (financial, scan and brand health)
- A proven ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and influence across the business – to bring people on the journey and to build and maintain trusted relationships
- Experience using shopper and market data (e.g Circana and Quantium)
- Experience in building and embedding brand/ category strategies
- Strong process and systems orientation
