The Opportunity:
As a Procurement Category Specialist for raw materials, you will support category strategy execution, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost optimisation across key materials. You’ll collaborate with global and regional teams, ensuring the successful implementation of sourcing strategies while optimizing value and managing risks.
Key Responisbilities:
- Develop and execute raw material category strategies aligned with business goals.
- Manage supplier relationships, fostering continuous performance improvement and collaboration.
- Negotiate and administer contracts to ensure commercial and legal compliance.
- Identify cost reduction and value creation opportunities through strategic sourcing.
- Monitor market trends, manage risks, and implement contingency plans.
- Analyse data to support decision-making and ensure supply chain efficiency.
Where do you fit in?
To enable you to hit the ground running in this role, you will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in food technology, business, supply chain management, or a related field. Alternatively, experience in FMCG raw materials quality management and an openness to transition into procurement.
- 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience, particularly in direct categories.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- An analytical mindset and proficiency in procurement software (SAP, eSourcing).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Raw material industry knowledge, particularly in FMCG. (Highly Desirable)
