We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager who thrives on identifying and securing new business to join our Auckland Commercial Sales team.
The purpose of this role is to seek out and develop profitable new business in the Away from Home market for the entire Suntory product portfolio within the assigned geographic territory.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cold calling non-Suntory accounts
- Preparing capex proposals
- Presenting and negotiating contractual terms with potential key account acquisitions
- Analysing existing accounts to identify opportunities for significantly improving our current trading position

You’re someone who enjoys problem-solving, navigating ambiguity, and approaching challenges with a positive mindset. You thrive in a close-knit team within a global organisation, where you can work autonomously while collaborating with Sales and other cross-functional teams.
You naturally enjoy hunting for new business despite setbacks, love negotiating multiple deals, and take pride in building strong relationships. You’re passionate about leveraging data and finding effective ways to retain and grow both existing and new clients.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Experience in Sales, ideally within FMCG or retail
- Strong relationship-building skills across multiple business levels
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Organisation and planning abilities, with a commitment to deadlines and timeframes
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Initiative and enthusiasm
You’ll enjoy the pace of a dynamic business, be highly organised, and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
