The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Independent Grocery Account Manager to drive sales and profit growth within key independent retailers and Metcash state offices. You will play a pivotal role in building genuine business partnerships and achieving our growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Design and implement account plans to achieve sales targets in collaboration with internal teams, including Category, Pricing, and Marketing.
  • Financial Management: Oversee total trade spend costs within budget and foster strong trading relationships to optimize business outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, driving opportunities for business improvement.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct ongoing evaluations of market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify gaps and opportunities.

What You Bring:

  • Experience managing Metcash or Independent Grocery accounts.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for commercial modelling.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for driving growth and innovation.
  • Enthusiasm and a proactive mindset to elevate team performance and outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of Metcash as a business and its market dynamics.
  • Desire to grow your career and take on new challenges within the organisation.
  • Innovative thinking that contributes to creative solutions and strategies.
  • Solid grasp of the core foundations and strategic vision of our organisation, ensuring alignment with our goals.
